During the latter half of this year and the first half of 2021, our two long standing and highly esteemed, Veterinary Trustees, Professor Matthew Pead BVetMed PhD MRCVS FHEA CertSAO and Dr Bradley Viner BVetMed MSc (VetGP) DProf FRCVS, will conclude their terms of office, after many years of exceptional support and contribution to Battersea. We are seeking to replace them with two equally skilled and engaged Veterinary Trustees who will each play a key part in Battersea’s future development and growth. To support our strategy and to build diversity in the Board we are looking for two new Trustees both with significant, current senior veterinary leadership experience, either from a research, policy development or clinical background or with direct practice experience.
The two new Trustees will join our Board of eleven, known as Council, who meet seven times a year with the Chief Executive and Directors (six half-day meetings usually in London and a full-day annual strategy meeting with the Directors usually in Windsor). Meeting formats are currently under review and some may in future be held virtually.
Both roles are appointments for an initial term of three years and may be re-appointed for a further two terms of three years. We anticipate one of the new Trustees will join the Board in October 2020, with the second successful new Trustee joining us in the Spring of 2021.
